CHRIST IS RISEN – ALLELUIA!

After our 40 days of Lent, of fasting, prayer and acts of charity, we have begun our Easter celebration

The Easter season lasts for 50 days and ends on the Feast of the Ascension of our Lord, this year on 9th May.

Thanks to all at St Mary’s who worked so hard through Lent, Holy Week and our Easter Sunday celebration.

We continue to pray for the peoples of the Holy Land, Israelis and Palestinians, Christians, Muslims and Jews, as the suffering and violence continues there. Above all, we pray for wisdom, compassion and integrity in their leaders, that they might together find a way to restore peace with justice.

We pray too for our own community here in Lewisham, especially our faith leaders and their communities. We give thanks for our friendships and strong interfaith relations, in particular through the Lewisham Interfaith Forum.

As we continue to celebrate the risen Lord Jesus, we look forward to an exciting season of worship, events and activities at St Mary’s church, at the heart of our community in Lewisham.
